- In 1989, the student democracy movement. After the memorial service for Hu Yaobang at school, I immediately held a wreath and led the procession on the street.
- A big-character poster was posted, saying there were too few female students in the procession.
- At the Drum Tower Square, I stood on a platform and gave a speech. Just as I said, "Fellow countrymen, it is unfair for us to suffer," someone pulled my sleeve to let me down, intending to protect me.
- Introduced the big-character poster to Gao Baoling (an American female student studying abroad, a UN staff member), and she took photos. During the procession at the Drum Tower, because of Gao's relationship, I stood with her on a car, feeling like reviewing the procession. Among the crowd, some classmates who knew me cheered for me. Also because of Gao's relationship, I felt like a traitor and was not happy.
- On May 19th at noon, I arrived at Tiananmen Square by train. The square was surrounded by students holding hands. With my student ID, I entered the square and stayed there for three nights. Went to the monument to receive orders, got a piece of paper, and went to block the military vehicles. First went to a large courtyard to block the soldiers and police inside. Later went to the intersection and blocked the military vehicles in a long line. A Shandong soldier said to me, "We will never shoot at the people, worst case, we'll just go back home and farm."
- Maintaining order on the square, ensuring that ambulances can enter and exit to rescue students who fainted from hunger strike. A female student from another city worked with me all the time, her boyfriend couldn't pull her away, and he spoke well of me.
- Standing in line to buy pancakes on the square, a Beijing girl was in front of me. She looked at my student ID, told the vendor to add two eggs and give them to me once they were cooked. No matter where the gospel is preached in the future, I will always remember this Beijing girl.
- In the sky above the square, government helicopters dropped leaflets. Students received them, didn't even look, and tore them up directly.
- In the afternoon of May 22nd, the situation eased, and I left Beijing and returned to Ning. A female graduate student from Hangzhou accompanied me, and our relationship was ambiguous.
- Shortly after June 4th, the school went on holiday, but I stayed. One night, I was sleeping soundly when suddenly the dormitory door opened, and several people came in. I recognized Teacher Lv Xiaoping, called out to him, and he called out "Ge Yimin." They told me to continue sleeping and then left. It turned out they were arresting Beijing students who had fled, like Wang Dan, who they said had gone to Nanjing.
