The Bible does not say that there shall be no prophets in the future. The so-called John the Baptist is the last prophet, based on:
Matthew 11:13 For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John.
This refers to the Old Testament Law summarizing the prophets, referring to the Old Testament prophetic role of predicting the identity of Jesus Christ, until John the Baptist, this kind of prophetic role ceased because what they prophesied, Jesus Christ, had already come and met people face to face.
This means: All the prophets prophesied (about Jesus' identity) until John.
Not: All the prophets, until John.
After John the Baptist:
When the people of his hometown rejected Jesus, he referred to himself as a prophet:
Matthew 13:57 And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own town and in his own home."
Paul's letters say that there can be prophets in the future:
1 Corinthians 12:28 And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers...
1 Corinthians 14:1 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy.
1 Corinthians 12:8 To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom... to another the ability to prophesy.
1 Corinthians 14:37 If anyone thinks they are a prophet or otherwise gifted by the Spirit, let them acknowledge that what I am writing to you is the Lord's command.
Titus 1:12 One of Crete's own prophets has said... "They are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons."
Even on the eve of the end of the world, there are still prophets:
Revelation 11:10 The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.
The Acts of the Apostles record many prophets:
Acts 11:27-28 During this time some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. One of them, named Agabus, stood up and through the Spirit predicted that a severe famine would spread over the entire Roman world.
Acts 21:10-11 After we had been there a number of days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea. Coming over to us, he took Paul's belt, tied his own hands and feet with it and said, "The Holy Spirit says, 'In this way the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and will hand him over to the Gentiles.'"
Acts 13:1 In the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers...
Acts 15:32 Judas and Silas, who themselves were prophets...
The Bible does not have any further revelations after the Book of Revelation by John, which cannot be added to or removed from. However, this refers to the Book of Revelation he wrote, to avoid confusion, not the entire Bible and God's revelations, as at that time only the Old Testament existed, the New Testament was not fully written (such as 2 Peter being written after Revelation), not yet compiled, and at that time there were as many as forty or more Gospels, such as the Gospel of Peter, and various letters, the final version of the New Testament was determined by later church fathers.
If John's statement about not adding or removing refers to the Old Testament's 39 books and the New Testament's 27 books, then as an apostle, he would have told the people at that time that the 27 books of the New Testament are authentic, to keep the Gospel pure, and not to give importance to false scriptures, without the need for later church fathers to finalize it.
The content of Jesus' resurrection in the Gospel of Mark and the story of the woman caught in adultery in the Gospel of John was added by Jerome in the 5th century.
God has visions and revelations in the last days:
Joel 2:28-29 And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
John 16:12 I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth.
There are prophets:
Numbers 12:6 When there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, reveal myself to them in visions, I speak to them in dreams.
There are Christians who believe in a true and living God, yet have made God a mute God for two thousand years, and will forever remain a mute God, this is utterly absurd.
Based on Ge Yi Min's vision, we acknowledge Ge Yi Min as a prophet of the kingdom. Amen!
